Established in 1961, the Sheet Metal Contractors Association (SMCA) of Hawaii is a statewide trade association that represents over 35 unionized sheet metal and air conditioning contractors in labor relations, legislative advocacy, and industry promotions.
Our mission is to promote quality and excellence in the sheet metal and air conditioning industry by fostering positive employer-employee relationships; furthering the cause of joint apprentice- ship standards and activities; conducting institutional advertising, educations, and public relations program; seeking correction of injurious, discriminatory or unfair business methods by or against sheet metal contractors; and, generally, doing all that is necessary to promote the development and improvement of the sheet metal industry.
Collectively, our contractors employ over 500 of the most highly-trained Hawaii Sheet Metal Workers (Local 293 A.F.L.O.C.I.), in addition to several hundred administrative staff, project managers, and other construction related personnel.
There are countless opportunities for a promising career in the sheet metal industry. Positions range from engineers to project managers to estimators to administrative staff.
